I bought some M3 disposable razors some time ago and removed the blades from them for one of my projects. I could not quite bear the idea of simply tossing the handles, so I took a good look around the shop and thought they just might work with my Swiss pattern files.
I cut the tip off of one handle and drilled it out to .136″ (No. 29) as an experiment to see how it would work. Given the consistency of the plastic/rubber mix, it worked better than I had expected. Now, with the three remaining handles I am going to give my four-jaw chuck some exercise and try and do a neater job of drilling the holes.
Give it a try; it makes a great no-slip handle for small files.
