Here’s a tip for an easy way to keep your spray mist coolant unit in place when using its magnetic base to attach it to the mill.
I added steel plates to the mill because it was always a pain finding a suitable, flat spot to attach the magnetic mister body and have it to stay in place. Now, I can loosen the screw holding the plate to the mill to readjust it to the best position so as to keep the spray mist wand close to the end mill for different setups.
The plates are made from 2″ x 6″ 12-gauge steel, with a 1/4″ hole drilled 3/4″ in from one end. I drilled and tapped a 1/4-20 hole on the large pivot pin on both sides of my Bridgeport mill. A 1/4-20 x 1” long screw holds the plates in place.
I placed one on each side of my mill for added versatility when using the spray mister and it’s been a great improvement!
