Brake line typically comes in either 6 or 8 foot lengths. If you want a longer piece, you have to buy a 25 foot coil. These long coils are difficult to straighten out and require the use of a commercial tool to do so. Since the commercial tool costs about $200, I decided to make my own.
I took some sliding door wheels (at about $3 each), some square thin-wall tube, clamped it all in the vise, and presto – an inexpensive straightener!
This tool works great, but if I ever decide to build another one I will put the wheels closer together to get the last little waves out of the brake line.
