The enclosed picture is rather self explanatory. It is a jig I made for the vise on my imported, horizontal band saw. I use it to hold short pieces, such as the nut shown in the picture. The two plates of the jig can be made to any size, to suit your needs and your machine. One plate attaches to the fixed jaw with two screws. Make sure that it extends to the blade. The other plate floats, and has two long screws at the end opposite the blade that are used to adjust for different sized workpieces. The fixture works well for me and has greatly improved my saw.
